Learn how to generate website traffic

You want to learn how to generate web traffic? Just about everyone does, its no secret. For websites traffic means money and in some cases it can mean a lot of money.

The more website marketing you do and the more web traffic you have, the better a website does in sales, advertising and more. But you may have just started online and you have a website and you want to get web traffic. First of all it does take work. It's not some overnight sensation where you make millions overnight. But you can generate good website traffic and make good money when you learn to have a plan and stick with it.

Ok, so the big question. How to generate web traffic? Not just any old traffic either but targeted traffic to your website. There are many ways one can get a lot of website traffic. You can do search engine optimization, write articles, get links to a website, exchange links, use joint ventures and more. And each one has its little secret that can generate alot of traffic. And, you can also put many of them together and get tons of traffic to a website. But you have to have a plan.

Look, many people when they first start out try to do too many things when they learn how to generate web traffic. I am here to tell you there are only so many hours in a day and you can only do so much. This is why many successful online marketers learn to outsource a great deal of their work. This is especially true for the free traffic methods. Are free traffic methods worth it? You bet and then some. But they do take alot of work. So, my advice is to learn about all the free ways to generate web traffic but then learn and use the ones which you can do yourself and outsource the rest.

Take for instance, I learned search engine optimization and article writing when I wanted to learn how to get website traffic for free. Both of these help to generate alot of website traffic to my websites. Then I have a plan in an excel spreadsheet and outsource the rest. This free's up my time to do other things where I can market my websites.

Now, article writing can bring you tons of web traffic to the point where you don't even need the search engines when you learn how to increase traffic to your site. However, when you write and distribute articles correctly you can also benefit from the search engines for finding website traffic.

It's best to learn how to generate web traffic with free and paid methods. Start small and use free things like seo optimization and article writing and lean all you can about them and then move into paid methods slowly and you will learn how to generate web traffic big time to your website.

Learn how to generate tons of website traffic Today and be a King of the Internet!

Buyer keywords - keywords that sell on the internet

Today I want to talk a little about buyer keywords and what they can mean to your business online and your websites bottom line.

You see, many people just look for keywords which produce a lot of traffic. All they want is traffic and nothing more. Well, thinking like that is not what is going to make you the most money. Sure we all want traffic and tons of it. But you have to think relevance and targeted.

Think about this for a moment. You can have all the traffic in the world. But, if no one buys anything from you or your phone never rings what good is it?

There are many keywords to choose from out there. But what separates good ones from bad ones and more importantly what makes a key word a buying keyword?

Ok, there are on a basic level two kinds of keywords. A single or short tail keyword and then a long tail keyword. So what do these mean? You see a word like dancing is very general. When a searcher types this keyword into google, they are just looking. At this point they may not even know what they are looking for. They could be looking for dance shoes, dancing lesson or dancing movies. You do not know.

Now, with this thought in mind, there are three levels to a search cycle. There is the research stage, In this stage the person is just looking, Then comes the Then comes the evaluation stage and finally the buying stage.

When people are ready to buy on a search engine they get very specific with their words. So someone may search Nikon camera at first and then go all the way to a specific Nikon camera model number in a engine. Again, when they get specific they are in a buying frame of mind.

Ok that's enough for now. More to come later.

Getting traffic to your Business Website!

Of all the questions I am ever asked by business owners with a website, I would have to say the most asked question is: how to get more traffic to their websites.

Before I mention a couple of ways to gain traffic, I want to talk about quality.

You see, getting traffic to your site is great and all. But, you have to make sure you spend your time getting quality web traffic. And I don't mean going out and paying for exit pop ups and the like. Those are a total waste of time.

If you are going to spend money, you will want to try pay per click advertising. However you will need to learn a little bit about it first. Because if you don't you can waste a lot of money and fast. So you need to make sure what you are doing. Check out the website by Perry Marshall, http://www.perrymashall.com

He has a great book that will teach you about AdWords. Make sure you pick up a copy or at least find something or someone to teach you about AdWords.

A way to get free traffic.

If you have a small website with under 30 pages, you may or may not have some good local search engine keyword listings. That's great. However, I can bet with so few pages you are not getting a lot of traffic to your website like you had hoped.

One of the ways you can get traffic is by gain links to your website from other local relevant business's. Not your direct competition, but business's that are like yours.

Your goal here would be to try and find some local websites by searching in Google with keywords. Let's say you are a plumber. You could find and trade links with heating and air or painting business's.

The way to look for these websites in Google is by typing in a command. You simply type in the Google search box.

Keyword +add url

ie, painters Cleveland +add url

The add url function will search websites where they accept links. Try it it's pretty easy. Just search down the list and keep track of each website in an excel spreadsheet. Get about 30 or so of these sites and then go back and start submitting your url.

Sure, this may seem like alot of work but, if you play your cards right and find websites with some good quality traffic, they too will give you the traffic you are looking for.

At first try exchanging links with 30 and see what results you get. Add more if you don't get the results you are looking for.

Now one last word of caution here. If you count on search engine rankings, this may or may not be for you. The reason is because some search engines are cracking down on link exchanges. So you have to make sure you only exchange links with relevant websites.

Also you do not want to link with anyone who practices bad search engine marketing. That is linking to link farms. A link farm is a web page or website set up to do nothing but trade links that have nothing to do with each other.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

The best strategy is to trade a few links that will give you some good local traffic and keep your search engine rankings. Never put all your marketing eggs into one basket with your local business website.

Trade Shows and getting Leads!

Here is a simple little post about doing trade shows. A trade show can be a great place to gain customers and leads for your business. However be smart about it. DO not do a trade show just to be there. Make sure you have a good amount of flyers that represent your business.

Also, you might want to consider running some kind of contest. When people fill out your contest form ask them for an email. This way you will be able to email them information about your business.

And, you don't just have to email them all about your business either. If after a while their email address does not make them be a customer, why not join an affailite program and email them about the program. Just make sure you dont push too hard. Just give them some good basic information about the program or product.

Remember, you can email this customer now for life or until they get off of your list. So be creative with the leads.

So, as you can see trade shows are a great way to gain customers and leads. Just be smart about it!

How a press release can shoot you to big profits, if you try just a little harder.

Internet marketing is about having a product, a nice website and then it all becomes promotion.

Once you create your product and it looks nice and has value for people, you need to promote it like there is no tomorrow. Promotion should be your number 1 job after you have the product.

A press release is just the answer you need to do such promotion. A good press release can capture many visitors and sales for you over and over.

But, there are usually two places where people fall short, when trying to do a press release. These two are.

Writing
Volume

To make a press release work you need to have a catchy headline and make it news worthy. It also should seem believable. If you are not sure how to write one, then visit prweb.com and see their how to write a press release page.

This is very important. You want something that is good and will catch the reader’s eye. If you do this the right way then you will have a chance of your release being picked up by many online magazines and websites. This is really the goal you are shooting for.

The next this where most people fall short is volume. Your press release is no good if no one sees’s it. In sales they tell you that one out of every ten people will at lease respond to your offer, they may not buy but they will respond. It is the same thing for a press release.

You need to think of ways to get more people to see it. One way to do this is again use prweb.com and pay the $80.00 donation to have your release sent all over the place. This is usually a very good strategy. How ever you shouldn’t stop there. You could also send your release to ezines and find websites to publish it for you.

One good spot one a top website can bring you traffic for months.

The last thing you really need to know is targeting. You want people to see it who will be interested in what you have to offer. For this try and find websites and ezine owners who cater to your target market.

So, remember to take action and get started today sending out your release. If you do not have a lot of time, then you need to make an action plan and stick to it. Spread out your chores over a few weeks or months, so you won’t get burnt out.

Also real all you can about writing your release. Again, it is very important to have a well written press release. You need something that is news worthy that reporters want to pick up on. One thing you could do here is tie your release into the current events.
However you decide to do it, just make sure you take action. Sure you will stumble along the way and people may ask you what you are doing. But if you keep trying you will eventually succeed..

Review of the RICH JERK.

Is the rich jerk a good book and can it help you achieve online sales? The answer is a resounding yes. However, just keep one thing in mind.

You may need to read it a few times before you start marketing and you may want to start to pick up a few other books on the subject of internet marketing.

The rich jerk is not a bad source of information for marketing on the internet. It covers a lot of the basics you need to know about how to succeed.

The book walks you through from start to finish. First it starts out coving what programs are the best to market with online and then gives you a way to put those programs into action.

It even covers how you should sell with the words you write and other things. This is a very basic concept that a lot of people miss when marketing on the internet.

The Rich Jerk even shows you how to create your own product to sell on the internet if that is what you think you would like to do. However you do not need to do this in order to make money online.

The book also tells you where you can get certain products and services that it covers. All this will help make you a success online.

The one thing to remember here is that there is not one little holy grail to making you rich on the internet. Will you have to work for it? Of course you will. There is absolutely no other way to make money online or offline. So you do have to put into action what it says.

However, the book does give very clear examples and lays out a very specific plan to market on the internet. You just have to get to work and make it work for you.

Can a beginner benefit from the Rich Jerk? You betch ya they can! Not only is the book written for the beginning marketer or an advanced one, it has a section devoted to getting started online and what to do if you are just starting out.

It really does go into detail about the how and the why of what needs to be done.

Is it a complete plan? Of course not. Like I said before in this article you will need to make a study out of internet marketing if you want to be successful. You see, way too many people are looking for the quick fix to make them rich.

Does this happen over night? NEVER! And if anyone ever tells you that it does then run, because they forgot to tell you how long it took them of studying and learning to get where they are today.

All in all the RICH Jerk is a great place to start if you want to learn how to market online. Just, read the book a few times and apply what you have learned and you should see results.

If you do not after at least 6 months, then buy another book or go over the rich jerk again and try to see what you are doing wrong. Remember things take time and you need to always test everything.

So, should you buy the rich jerk? Yes, if you want to learn how to market on the internet. Here’s why: The reason is because not only to you get the eBook but you also get lifetime updates, a resource cd and access to bulletin boards. The bulletin boards are critical to your success because you can share ideas with other people and ask questions about your venture.

See, if you just somehow get the book from someone and then read it, you may not fully understand it. So what better way then to have people who are already making money online to help you? This is absolutely critical to your success.

The updates to the book are just as important. Why you ask? Because, internet marketing changes so fast that what was good today is bad tomorrow.

You see maybe you start to market through the search engines and you are doing well. Then one day your site is gone from Google and you have no idea why.

Well if you had stayed updated on internet marketing you could have found out what you were doing wrong and avoided that disaster all together.

So buy the Rich Jerk if you want to succeed and maybe you could be the next internet millionaire.

To your success,

How to Explode Your Small Business Marketing and Fatten Your Wallet!

Small businesses are popping up everywhere. However, one of the biggest problems they face is small business marketing. To understand this lets first take a look at why.

Today more than ever, people are jumping on the small business band wagon like the traffic that arrives at a 60% off sales at a major clothing store.

There are all kinds of people starting their own plumbing business, contracting business and whatever else you can think of.

Part of the reason for this is there is no job security anymore and unions seem to be a thing of the past. The days are long gone where people stayed at the same job for 25 years or more.

Corporations have downsized more than ever in today’s changing world. People seem to be laid off for just about any reason you can think of anymore. One thing is for sure, the economy has changed.

Many people think we are doomed as a society but, are they failing to realize that things have just only changed.

It’s kind of like the auto worker who was laid off because he was replaced by the mechanical robot arm that now makes cars. However that worker took notice and went back to school and learned to repair those robots.

His future is now bright again because he was able to see the change he needed to make.

In marketing, the same change takes place all the time. Marketing is a never ending battle to get the word about your products or services. If one thing doesn’t work you should try something else until you land upon a winning combination. And then create a small business marketing plan.

Don’t get caught up in the mindset of you tried something once and it didn’t work for you so therefore it doesn’t work at all.

Marketing takes many years of skill and practice to be able to perform it like a red belt karate master.

But let’s look at that karate master just a little closer for a second. In some forms of martial arts, a black belt has to learn only 5 to 10 moves to become a black belt.

So they practice those moves over and over until they know them like a pup knows its own mother.

The point here is many people are looking for the quick fix all the time. They continue to search out many sources of marketing information without taking any action at all.

Learning is a very positive thing and should be performed all the time. However, one of the greatest tricks of marketing is finding that one thing that you know you can do and works very well for you. And then repeat it over and over until you know it like the karate master.

Then and only then can you move on to other things in the marketing mix to help make your business more money.

Again, do not get caught up in thinking you have to learn and do everything at one. Your business marketing will take time to learn. Make it a process and enjoy it. Continue to read books and other marketing strategies materials that help you learn about marketing.

If you find yourself in a bind and already own a business that needs help with marketing. Here are five small steps to help you until you learn the bigger picture.

1. Hire an expert. Many marketing experts do consult for thousands of dollars at a time. However, maybe you have a friend that owns a business. Jump up off the couch and see what they do for their marketing.

2. Get the word out. Listen you are going to make mistakes. But, doing nothing is a total loss. Get out there and do something today to make it happen. You could try to make a flayer and hand it out to people.

3. Tell your friends and family. Friend and family are there to help when you need it. So don’t be shy. Ask them for help. You could ask them if they might know anyone interested in your business or if they know anyone who could help you.

4. Start a company web site. A website is a great way to get the word out about your business. The trick here is learning about web marketing. One way could be a logo on your car.

5. Joint partnerships with other businesses. Whatever business you own there are similar businesses that you could pair up with. You could recommend each others products or services to the others customers. Just make sure they are in line with your target market.

These are small ways to leverage your business over your competition. Just remember to learn all you can and if you do nothing else take action to make it happen. You will stumble along the way, that is a given. But, if you do nothing you have no business.

Have a Marketing Plan

One of the first things you have to do to get or grow your business is have a marketing plan. Without a marketing plan, you will never grow your business to it's fullest. You may also not get customers.

Many small business owners make the mistake thinking that they don't want to bug people or they don't want to sell. Don't make this mistake. Without sales and marketing you have no customers. Which means no business.

So what do you do?

The first thing you should do is got to goggle and type in marketing plan and see what is out there and learn all you can. Get used to marketing terms and the things marketers do the create business. You should be aware though, that there is so much miss information out there. So, read with caution and if it seems too good to be true, it most likely is.

Once you start to understand marketing then it's time to make your marketing plan.

One thing to keep in mind is, you will need to test and track all of your marketing. You have to do this so you know what works and what doesn't. If you do not track your advertising then you may as well throw your money out the window. Because you will not be able to so what is bringing you in customers.

Marketing changes all the time. What works today may not work tomorrow. Also, you may make an ad and have no idea why it works. This is the animal called marketing. It is part science and part art. The science part is tracking and the art of it is creating.

Be specific in all your advertising.

People want to see things they want. They usually stray away from outrageous claims, like we have it all or we can do it all. Claims like that tell people nothing about what solutions you have for them.

So in your service business tell people what you can do for them and be specific. If you know you can get a certain job done is 3 days on just about every job you do then tell them so, in your ads.

Sell the benefits, sell the sizzle not the steak.

People buy on emotion not on logic. They want you to solve their problems, right here and right now. Get in your target markets head and figure out what it is they want. So, tell them they will save money, save time or whatever it is the benefit of your service is. Not the feature.

Start your plan.

If you have money to advertise then start by placing classified ads in your local papers. Don't just place one ad for only a week. Place your ad in multiple papers and run them for at least one month. Make sure you track all of this. Do this by asking people when they call how they heard of you. This way you will know what ads work and what ads do not, and you will not just be wasting your money.

Have flyers made up with a coupon stating 20% off of services and then place that in all of your local grocery stores and coffee shops and other places you can think of where your target market meets or shops.

Take the same flyer and hand it out at local fairs or other events. Also walk around to some neighborhoods and hand them out to people. Just check with the local city to make sure you can do this.

This should get you started with a marketing plan. Remember read all you can and buy books on how to market, write ads and more. You need to learn what works with marketing.

Too many small business owners make the mistake of running some ads and get nothing from them and then they say advertising doesn't work. This may not be the case, it was most likely the ad they wrote didn't,t attract or appeal to their target market.
